Preparing this month's tracker…

Paper-friendly reflection

How to use a printable mood tracker

A printable mood tracker gives every day a small, visible place on one sheet of paper. Choose the month and calendar style above, print the page, and keep it somewhere that naturally fits your routine—a planner, journal, desk, or noticeboard.

Each date includes numbers 1 through 5, matching the Tough, Low, Okay, Good, and Great key. Circle the closest label and use the lines for a few words of context. You can change the labels by hand if different language works better for you.

A simple three-part paper routine

  1. 1

    Mark

Circle the number that feels closest. Avoid spending energy on perfect precision.

  2. 2

    Remember

Add a word about context—such as rest, deadline, walk, connection, or quiet—only if useful.

  3. 3

    Review

At month's end, read the page as a collection of moments rather than a grade or streak.

Why choose a paper mood tracker?

Paper has no notifications and can remain visible in a familiar place. Writing by hand may also make room for doodles, symbols, or vocabulary that is entirely your own. The tradeoff is privacy: keep a completed sheet somewhere appropriate for the details you record.

Printable tracker or online calendar?

Use the printable when you prefer handwriting or want a physical overview. Choose the online mood tracker and calendar when you want editable entries in this browser. Neither format is inherently better; the useful one is the format you are comfortable returning to.

Gentle monthly reflection questions

The bottom of the template leaves space for three prompts: what supported me, what felt demanding, and what do I want to remember? These questions keep the review close to lived context instead of reducing a month to one average.

What a monthly tracker cannot tell you

A sheet reflects only the moments you chose to mark and the language you used at the time. It cannot explain why moods changed, determine your overall wellbeing, or provide a health assessment. Use it to support your own reflection, not to reach a diagnosis.

Helpful answers

Frequently asked questions

Is this printable mood tracker free?
Yes. Choose a month, year, and first day of the week, then print the generated page or save it as a PDF from your browser's print dialog. No account or email is required.
How do I fill in the monthly mood tracker?
Use the mood key at the top and circle one number inside a date. The dotted lines can hold a word or two about the day. You may skip any date or write in a way that suits your journal.
Can I make the week start on Sunday?
Yes. Select Sunday under Week starts on. The printable calendar will rearrange immediately while keeping the chosen month and year.
What paper and print settings work best?
The layout is designed for landscape printing on common paper sizes. In the print dialog, choose landscape orientation and fit to printable area if your browser does not select them automatically.
Does the generator save my printable tracker?
No. The generator creates the blank template in your browser and does not upload or store your month, year, or anything you later write on paper. Use the print dialog's Save as PDF option if you want a digital blank copy.
Is a printable mood chart a diagnostic test?
No. It is a personal reflection template. The marks reflect your own labels and cannot diagnose a condition, assess risk, establish causes, or replace professional care.
