1. Acceptance
By using www.moodcheckin.app or the Mood Check-In app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. What Mood Check-In provides
Mood Check-In is a self-reflection and general-wellness journal. It lets you record moods, emotions, influences, and optional notes; review summaries and patterns; personalize reflection prompts; and schedule local reminders. The website also provides free browser-based tools for mood check-ins, emotion vocabulary, journaling prompts, activity comparison, calendars, and printable templates.
The app is currently in development. Features, availability, pricing, and presentation may change before or after public release.
3. Not medical or emergency care
Mood Check-In is not a healthcare provider, medical device, diagnostic instrument, therapy service, treatment, crisis line, or emergency service. Its mood labels, prompts, averages, streaks, and summaries are based only on the information you enter and may be incomplete or inaccurate.
Do not rely on Mood Check-In to make medical decisions or detect risk. The app does not monitor journal entries, alert another person, or contact emergency services. Consult a qualified professional for medical or mental-health advice. In an emergency, contact local emergency services.
4. Your journal, browser, and device
You control what you enter. You are responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of your content and for deciding whether using the app is appropriate for you.
The current app stores journal content locally and does not provide a Mood Check-In account, cloud sync, or guaranteed backup. Data may be lost if it is deleted, the app is removed, or the device is lost or damaged. Device backup and restoration depend on Apple and your settings. We cannot recover journal content that we never received.
Some website tools save entries in local browser storage; others keep selections only for the current page or session. Local browser content may be lost when you clear site data, use private browsing, change browsers or devices, or when the browser removes stored data. Printing and PDF saving are controlled by your browser and operating system.
5. Free and paid access
Some areas may be available without payment, while journal actions and other features may require Mood Check-In Plus. The app identifies paid features when you attempt to use them.
Available products may include a monthly auto-renewing subscription or a one-time purchase. The product, price, currency, trial eligibility, billing period, and renewal terms displayed by Apple before purchase control.
6. Subscriptions, trials, and one-time purchases
Apple processes payments through your App Store account. Monthly subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled through Apple before renewal. If an eligible free trial is displayed, it becomes a paid subscription unless cancelled before the trial ends.
A one-time or "lifetime" purchase means paid access without a recurring subscription for as long as the purchased app functionality remains lawfully available and supported. It is not a promise that the app, every feature, or every third-party service will operate forever.
Manage or cancel subscriptions through Apple. Refund eligibility and payment disputes are handled under Apple's policies. Use Restore Purchases in the app to ask Apple and RevenueCat to restore eligible access. Family Sharing applies only if the App Store listing expressly says it is available.
7. License and acceptable use
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for its intended purpose, subject to these terms and applicable App Store rules.
You may not:
- disrupt or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the site or app;
- bypass access controls or misuse the service;
- reverse engineer the app except where applicable law permits it;
- use the service in a way that violates applicable law; or
- copy or redistribute Mood Check-In branding, illustrations, interface, or original content without permission.
8. Intellectual property
The Mood Check-In name, visual identity, software, website, interface, illustrations, and original content are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These terms do not transfer ownership of them to you. You retain rights in journal content you create.
9. Third-party services
The app and website rely on third parties including Apple, RevenueCat, Vercel, and Cloudflare. Their services may be unavailable or change independently, and their own terms and privacy policies may apply.
10. Availability and changes
We may maintain, update, add, remove, suspend, or discontinue features where reasonably necessary. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability. Where required by law, changes affecting paid access will be handled consistently with consumer rights and App Store rules.
11. Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by law, Mood Check-In is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not promise that its summaries, prompts, reminders, or other content will be complete, accurate, suitable for a particular purpose, or available at every time.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-data damages arising from use of or inability to use Mood Check-In. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
13. Suspension or termination
You may stop using the service at any time. We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect the service, comply with law, or address material misuse. Ending use does not automatically cancel an App Store subscription.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product changes. The current version and updated date will be published here. Continued use after an update means acceptance where permitted by law.
